Welcome Our Seminarian

Sahra Harding enjoyed her first Sunday at Saint James on the 20th of September, and will be with us through the coming year. In her own words:
My name is Sahra Harding and I will be your seminarian this year. I have just completed my second of three years at The General Theological Seminary. Before moving to New York City I worked as the Diocesan Youth Coordinator, and before that as the Administrative Assistant for the largest homeless shelter in the Midwest. Though I was born and raised in the Bay Area of California, I canonically reside in Nebraska and this diocese is sponsoring my path toward ordination. I expect to return to Nebraska once I have graduated. After earning a Literature degree from UC Santa Cruz, I ventured into youth ministry through the young adult internship program in Omaha that helps young people understand their call to ministry. This summer I worked in the Grand Canyon with a Christian ministry program that provides worship services for visitors and staff at the National Park. I hope to continue working in outdoor and camp ministry in the future because I enjoy spending time outdoors. I am looking forward to spending this next year with you.
Sahra will be preaching for the first time next Sunday, in partial celebration of Saint James’ Women’s Day.
